Custom Application
Project
Client required a custom application that would integrate with their legacy systems.
Based on very limited business requirements, the challenge was to fully
understand the current system and the end users in order to create the new application.
However, with no access to end users, the current "green screen" system was the only
interface to guide me. In addition, I worked with a small team of internal managers in order
to whiteboard, and in effect, to create the business requirements to build and demo the system to
executive stakeholders.
My Role
- Defined user needs using qualitative research and analysis.
- Documented design requirements and user goals as defined by
executive sponsor of the project.
- Established usability guidelines through heuristic evaluation
of current site and prioritised those findings for design.
- Collaborated with business to review project requirements.
- Developed use cases and prototype scripts to demonstrate improved usability and functionality of the site.
- Designed and prototyped the user interface using iRise.
- Facilitated end user testing and stakeholder review meetings to ensure
accuracy of deliverables and meeting of project goals.
- Obtained buy-in of design direction from the executive sponsor of the
project through creative vision, project planning and providing successful
iterative results.
- Established high level of trust with the client by providing end-to-end support,
and creative solutions.
